An inquest regarding the death of Aurora Sleep saw the South Australian coroner called upon to consider the use of prostaglandin gel against a background of earlier maternal uterine perforation.

Various recommendations were made as to the drafting of guidelines and the provision of risk information to patients.

The coroner also recommended that the capacity of the chosen hospital to provide emergency caesarean section should be considered, when admitting a patient with such a history for induction and delivery.
