A new (sixth) edition of the New South Wales Mandatory Reporter Guide was published in December 2014.

The edition includes the changes to the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW) enacted by the Child Protection Legislation Amendment Act 2014 (NSW).

It is interesting to note that despite the recognition of a mandatory reporting obligation under New South Wales law for female genital mutilation, the introduction of a similar obligation in the United Kingdom is reportedly opposed by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
